iPad 1, iPad 2, Galaxy Tab, Xoom, playbook, and many other tablets either entered the market or will very soon. Companies like Apple, Samsung, RIM, and Motorola are furiously competing to expand their presence and shares in the competitive tablets market. Each of these companies is trying to differentiate their tablets from others by in most cases, increasing software and media player compatibilities, higher resolution, thinner and lighter, better camera features, superior storage, etc.
The tablets entered the market at a time where social media is playing a huge role in many aspects of our lives, not only here in the United States, but all around the world. Newer generations are using their computers to do just that; chat, tweet, text, share audio and video, and networking. What is better than using the tablets to do so? We always did, and always will, look for what is better, easier, more convenient, and coolest. As of now, the tablets have this all.
I believe that in the coming few years we will see a wide spread of tablets use in many businesses and professions, as well as for personal uses. No more files and folders, papers, no more physical keyboard and mouse, and no more erasable slate and clapperboards. We will see tablets everywhere, and soon, laptops will become old fashioned.

I completely agree with you on the fact that we will see a wide spread use of tablets. It is the future of technology and we will continue to see development of tablets.
ReplyDeleteTablets are the future, pcs and laptops are going to end up like the floppy disc. People these days want something portalbe, small, and easy to use. They want to access the day's newspapers anywhere in the world, choose from hundreds of magazines and then give a presentation at work all on one device.
ReplyDeleteWith textbook publishers (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Kaplan Publishing, McGraw-Hill Education, and Pearson) porting their textbooks to the iPad and the advent of devices like the Kindle and Nook, the idea of tablets replacing traditional books seems more plausible than ever; this would yield a three-fold benefit.
ReplyDeleteFirst, acquiring the "book" would be (in theory) cheaper, as traditional publishing costs would be alleviated. Second, the possibility of interactive textbooks with immediate feedback would be a reality. Finally, this approach would be more environmentally sound in the long run.
And this is just one way I think that tablets could shape the 21st century.

ReplyDeleteI know tablets are the future of laptops and things, but i really don't see them ever really replacing them. There's just something about a laptop and desktop, something personal and private you can't just get from a tablet. A tablet is one of the best inventions I have ever seen with all the apps, but a tablet is more for the person on the go, just as all mobile modern technology is. All a tablet can do is diminish the value or worth of a laptop it will never make them outdated. - Aaron Baker
ReplyDeleteAs the years go by, it really isn't any surprise that technology is evolving and growing at the pace it seems to be going at. There is definitely going to be a wide spread use of tablets later on down the road though how long it may take until everyone begins to use them is unknown. They make life a whole heck of a lot easier, especially so for people who are busy and may not have time to sit down at a computer or drag a laptop/netbook around with them every where; all they would have to do is slip out the tablet, turn it on, and hook up to whatever wireless source may be available.
ReplyDeleteEven if tablets wind up dominating the market and taking over where laptops and desktops had once reigned supreme, there will still be people who will prefer them (the laptops & desktops) over a tablet. As someone had said, there is something person and private that you can't get from toting around a tablet everywhere.
I believe tablets can become the future laptops. If they can find a way to install a DVD drive, bigger hard drives and usb ports, better processors as well as windows then maybe they can have a shot. As far as viewing books, listing to music and viewing the web as well as movies they are great. Every year tablets seem to become more and more advanced and are on the rise in sells. So only time will tell
